Juice Feasting Objective
Filed under juice feastingJun 12Wow I am a juice feasting freak of nature! Weigh in today is 153.6 pounds! Go figure! After a LONG freaky week the Sun has returned to the northwest!
Mary and I were having a talk last night about how we keep being told how we have such enormous amounts of determination and willpower to complete this thing. We keep getting asked “how do you do it?”. Well I thought I’d take a little time to answer that question.
Mary and I moved to Portland 6 years ago to leave Dallas, Texas. We left behind big $$$ careers and excessive lifestyles to move to PDX with a 9.5% unemployment rate at the time. But we didn’t come to Portland to make $$$ or continue our careers. We came here because we were pushed to do something to improve our lifestyle and health. In the time we’ve been here we’ve worked through many things, uncovered many layers. Times have been good and bad, up and down. We’ve grown in many ways and transgressed in others. But the original objective hasn’t been off our radar screen which is to continue to improve our health and, optimize our lifestyle both physically, mentally and spiritually.
This juice feast for us has been a huge part of that objective. It was the right time to do it. We have known about juice feasting for a few years now and, even thought about doing one a couple years ago but, it simply was not the time.
This has been an amazing experience and we haven’t even left home. We’ve turbocharged our health and shredded excess weight and have made our insides sparkle! This has not been a fast or a cleanse. This has been so much more. It will be interesting to see the transition back. Not just to solid foods but also to the real world. We’ve successfully withdrawn ourselves from a large part of society in the time we’ve done this. We’ve ignored the parties and other social gatherings. Not because we didn’t want to be around other people but, because we simply were turned out on another frequency.
As we transition back there are going to be so many additional adjustments to make. The way we intake food, the food we intake. The way we eat our food. It’s in many ways like being reborn. Our relationship with food has been torn apart and rebuilt.
Our relationship with libations is also taking on a whole other outlook. In this day and time in our evolution as humans it’s important to be as present and heart centered as possible. Blowing our brains daily on drugs and alcohol is an action that no longer serves humanity, including peace loving hippies. The drugs that at one time served to turn us on are now turning us off to that place of heart center. That place of total stillness, the source of our power.
Limiting libations so that we can remain present and heart centered as much as possible is a huge priority! This isn’t to say there is going to be bad days. In fact, thank god for libations sometimes because there are those days you just need to escape a little bit because at times living this life can be a mother@#$%#$!! However, it’s important we take the time to be present with those around us. The art of being present with others is just about impossible when under the influence, including grass.
So I am aware I’m getting a bit off track so back to the answer to the question of what is the source of all this amazing willpower and determination? It’s simply a continuation of the journey we started over 6 years ago when we stepped foot into a city in the northwest we never had been to before with a truck packed full of everything we owned in hopes of a better life to come. We have not lost sight of that objective and, this juice feast is yet another step into achieving such! Enjoy the sun for those you in PDX and hope to see many of you this summer!
